After much debate I’ve put mine up for sale today, I’ve only done 800 miles since October and it spends most of the time in the garage under a cover so I’ve decided to let someone else enjoy it. I’ll go back to my first love and find another unloved 1990’s sportsbike to bring back from the dead.

If anyone is interested in a mint 2013 675 ST ABS with only 5500 miles and full Triumph history give me a shout.

That was a mini bottle that was free when I got here, it was also accompanied by a bottle of Cremant De Limoux and a red as well.

It’s perhaps a Choke, an inductor to stop High Frequency AC signals.

You once used to see them on computer equipment as a magnet with the wire looped through it.

Not sure why u need it in a head light circuit, unless ur alternator is totally buggered ( and built in the 1820’s). Is there some IC processor in the circuit maybe using PWM (pulse width modulation) to dim the light for high/low beam? That could be another reason...

I think it’s also got control circuitry in it for switching the halo colour and for voltage regulation

Got up at silly o’clock today and pulled the speed twin out for an early morning run ahead of another day with the family. Managed a couple of hours in the chilly morning sun.... just about run in now and have been able to use the full potential of the bike. Lovely!

Those early morning rides are my favourite, I often leave the house at 7.00 ride from Oxford to Stratford upon Avon meet some mates for breakfast and home by about 10.30. Still got all day to do other stuff.

Manged to get enough miles on the clock for next weeks first service, despite 100's of cyclists, horse-riders and VW golf drivers trying to kill me :) Probably should have got my lazy arse out of bed earlier. Still got home with a grin on my face though, 6000rpm before the orange warning comes on now so starting to get a feel for what's still to come.

After a run out yesterday spent the morning removing all the dead bugs.

Took the seat off to find the lhs seat hook was busily rubbing it's way through the wiring, gone through the outer wrapping and starting to work through the cabling inside.
So, howked the loom out the back end, checked all the sheathing, rewrapped it in self amalgamating tape, and rerouted it. Everything works!

Wasn't what I wanted to be doing, wanted to be out and about, but hey, better doing that than sitting in flames and smoke at the side of the road.
