    Hi all
In the process of doing an oil service and after removing the old oil filter noticed this O-ring lying on the ground.
Is it supposed to go in before the oil filter? The parts Fiche diagram doesn't seem to show it and the new filter did not come with a new one.
Any help as soon as possible would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Joe.
I've been staring at the parts diagrams and searching parts numbers and I can't see anything either. I'll just install the filter as I normally have.

Think I would aswel. Can't see that it comes from the filter as surely it would stop the oil filtering properly. It mind boggling though when you are finishing a job and find something you hadn't noticed. Does confuse things for some time. But I think you are safe enough the filter ring is there. I do think the Gremlins are taking the mickey.

Is it an O ring? Looks more like a fibre washer.
Maybe it’s off an old oil filter and was left behind after it was removed?

    ********UPDATE*******
    I AM A MORON! : unamused:

Even though I checked thoroughly before posting to a public forum I somehow missed that it popped off my oil catch tray screw. How it popped off directly under the filter bewilders me.
Nonetheless, you guys are awesome for coming back so quickly. I really do appreciate it and love this site :)

At least you sorted it. Now you can move on and it won't be playing on your mind. And we all have done similar and we would not think twice about a genuine query. We all need each other at times.
