Good evening all. New on here, and have collected an '05 Sprint ST today. It's a lovely ride and I'm pleased with it so far (only a day!). A niggling problem is that although the clock can be set, when the ignition is turned off it loses its memory and the next time the bike is started the clock reverts to 1:00. Also no clock display when the bike is switched off. It seems to me that there probably should be an unswitched supply to the instrument console in order to keep things like the clock running. It's not the end of the world if I cannot get it fixed, but some of the other information is also reset when the ignition is turned off. I have checked the fuses (the Sprint forum on Bikers' Oracle suggests fuse no.6) and can find nothing amiss. Likewise, there wiring loom looks undamaged. Would any of you kind people be able to point me at other possible areas where the fault may lie? Many thanks, Mike

having had a troll the only thing I came across was this, you've prob seen it too. But don't you hate it when people get advice they have asked for and then never post wether it works or not!
Yes, thanks - I had seen this thought this was going to be the answer (I also posted my query on that site too) but no luck yet. I'll have the screen off tonight and have a look in the wiring for a 'permanent' 12V supply to the instrument panel. If I find out what the issue is I will certainly post about it!
Doh.......... obvious really. There was no fuse in position no. 9. This supplies the instruments, diagnostic socket and alarm system. The dealer had removed the alarm (I gather it was misbehaving) and taken removed the fuse too (or maybe the previous owner removed the fuse). I have put in a spare fuse and the clock now retains its time (and there's power to the diagnostic socket now). I hope that removal of the alarm didn't involve any modifications to the wiring that I haven't discovered.......

Oh yes..... Just about to do so! Hope to finish off the BT-023s shortly, then it's on with the PR-4s. Had the bike since Thursday and managed to clock up 150 miles so far after work and will put loads more on this weekend I think! More fun in your part of the world though........... The headlight is crap, as I discovered last night. Not sure whether there's much that can be done about this
Great! Hope that's not going to create other issues. I always ignore the clock anyway! "I'll be back when I'm back" I tell the missus, " oh yes dear 5'oclock, and I'll get some milk!" Squeek squeak!
No, It's as standard - two dips and a single high beam. when switched to main all three come on as they should. It's probably fine on the motorway but on the dark twisty lanes it's not so good. I'll get used to it!
Nah...... took her out last night for a "quiet ride" She finds the pillion seat quite comfortable - the previous Ducati was hopeless!
