I have had a new top box fitted to my 1200 Trophy SE, which annoyingly means I have two keys, because I didn't inherit the extra barrels supplied with the original bike.
The original key fits the ignition and panniers, new key is just the top box.
The manual warns against putting two different keys close to the ignition switch because the transponders will interfere with the immobiliser.
The new key looks slimmer than the one provided with the bike and I am wondering if it actually has a transponder fitted, or whether its just a mechanical key supplied for luggage only. It would be a lot simpler if I could keep both keys on the same ring, but obviously I don't want to mess up the ignition system. Anyone have any experience?

I have just ridden a couple of thousand miles with both keys on the same ring, no ill effects having the new one near the ignition switch

Its great. Just finished a ride round the country, the only mishaps being two punctures, which were nothing to do with the bike, but the TPS detected them brilliantly. I have a few minor issues which I'm going back to the dealer with next week the biggest are an annoyingly noisy gearchange, and I cant adjust the headlight beam, so have annoyed some other drivers. Its difficult to apologise when you are riding!
other issues relate to the audio, and the seat, which despite being supremely comfortable - riding 6 or 7 hours a day is no problem, is bowing in the middle, as if there is no support there.
Overall I don't regret the purchase at all.
