Hi all Just venturing in to triumph ownership. Just bought a Jap import so working my way through the process of registering it. Found some sound advice on here and waiting to hear back from Triumph about Certificate of Conformity. It’s a bit odd looking, part faired (Daytona style) and the rest is naked. Pictures to follow in a week or 2
Bit of a Hybrid, either a Daytona that has a Speed Triple rear fairing or Speed Triple with clip-ons and 'tona top fairing? Either way, interesting, thanks for the pictures
Update; No CoC available from Mr. Triumph. They didn’t start producing them until 2002. They have confirmed to me over the phone the it was produced in Jan 98 and it is a Daytona and has an outstanding recall on a fuel pipe problem. Can’t get any further getting the registration until Mr Triumph tells me all their data in a letter. Fingers & toes crossed then.
The fuel pipe recall will be to replace the plastic fuel connectors with metal ones. Unfortunately Triumph only did a half arsed job of the recall and changed the hose fittings leaving the tank connectors as the plastic ones. You’ll want to replace these with metal ones too as they will undoubtedly fail.
