I'm new to the forum so Hi! I was using this excellent resource to read up about Speed Triples as I'm think of buying one. I'll let you know if I do.
I live near Sandwich in deepest Kent and have a few other bikes but no Triumphs yet. The one I'm looking at, if its still available, is a 2008 Speed in white, low mileage and looks to be in good condition but we're at the NW200 so I can't do anything about it at the moment.

Welcome orangejohn, look forward to seeing pics if you get it. What other bikes have you got? And how’s the racing going?

So far we’ve had Tuesday practice and Thursday evening races. It’s been very good, I would have liked to see Harrison or Hillier get a win but can’t grumble at Johnston and Hickman getting them (plus an Italian in the supertwin), Hickmans Trooper Triumph get a stone through the radiator so that was him out of the supersport. The weathers been fantastic.
My Other bikes, ZX10R, ZZR14, an old Fireblade, WR250R and an MT 07 which I’m on at the moment.

Welcome and I hope you find it helpful and friendly here.
I was chatting with Dean only the other week. A very down to earth nice guy .

Very envious John, @tcbandituk gave me chance of a TT visit but couldn't justify two weeks off work.

Hello again, just a quick update.
I got the bike, took my partner with me to give it the once over too as I get too easily distracted by shiny things! The 40 odd mile ride home was nice, it was more economical than I thought it going to be - 60 mpg! This might be explained, I later found out, by a blocked fuel tank breather. When I fuelled it, the tank was under some vacuum, is this common fault, corrosion blocking the passageway in the fuel cap? Also, just about to leave work yesterday, and the rear light was only held in by the wires, the plastic by the moulded in threads was broken. I guess done, or stressed, when the previous owner fitted a tail tidy. 100 quid for a new one, I’m keeping an eye out for something secondhand.
One question, do suspension adjustments between the factory hard and soft have much effect?

I've answered my own question! Reset all adjusters to the recommended soft settings and it's much more compliant, more suited to the less than smooth roads around me anyway - I'm impressed as I didn't expect to notice much of a difference.
