Another Street Triple Owner Checking In

Finally got around to registering on a forum.

I have a well worn 2008 standard street triple which has survived quite a few overseas trips, and one or two tip overs. The bike is great fun on mountain twisties but gets quite tiring on long motorway trips and if they ever put the 765 engine in the Daytona it will be an ideal replacement.



As you can see the bike is really at home in Swizerland.

Valais - which is mostly speaks French but everyone also speaks English. It only gets difficult when you head past Brig and you find plenty Italian speaking..
That barrage is Lac Hongrin and like so many great places entails a long and sketchy trail which is closed whenever the army base has a live firing session at targets in those mountains on the right.

It is indeed - Love the sweeping roads up to the Chamby Railway Museum. It can be great fun taking the bike to get it serviced in mid winter by Triumph - InterMoto in Lausanne - thankfully heated grips and the stunning views from the Autoroute over Lac Leman make up for the sub zero temperatures.

As for California I have only done a few rides that side of the planet when I caught up with friends based in Westminster(LA), Daly City(SF), San Diego and Baja.

Of course it was gloriously sunny whilst I was there. I had a loan bike for 4 weeks so I had to go for a circuit along PCH and Rossi's Highway. Our run through Death Valley was a couple of weeks after heavy rain so we were treated to the amazing sight of desert bloom which petered out well before we got to Kingman and a blast along Route 66 .

One memorable moment was being buzzed by border patrol helicopters near the Tecate border crossing. If funds permit I hope to be back next year before my ESTA runs out.
