    Hello!
Hopefully somebody can give some kind of advice.

My bike is 2012 Speed Triple SE-model. Original and in good condition.
Now it has start made unfrequently odd fault when starting.

    1) NORMAL THING WHEN EVERYTHING WORKS FINE
    - Turning key and tachometer makes it "dance" from zero to max and back. At the same time fuel pump primes. After that pushing start button and everything works great.

    2) THE UNNORMAL SITUATION, APPEARS FROM TIME TO TIME
    - Turning key and tachometer makes it "dance" from zero to max and back.
After that fuel pump primes but anything happens when pushing start button. Some kind of electric ticking and rolling sound comes somewhere. It takes maybe 15-20 second and when the sound stops, it starts when pushing start button. Often, when this happens, it also shows empty tank (even if it is full).
It has not left me on the road (yet...)

    Any ideas??

    Thanks in advance,
    Antti

Sounds like the battery is running low, maybe about 12.4v it needs to be 12.6v+ for enough power to start

If you are not using the bike often or just very short trips, the battery may not be getting enough charge

If in the batteries history it has been allowed to run really flat, less than 11v then this could possibly have damage a battery cell, which means the battery will not be capable of holding enough voltage charge for long and running low on voltage quickly

Charge the battery with a quality charger for sealed batteries, if the problem goes away, than the cause is a low voltage battery, if the symptoms appear again within a week or two, then either the battery has a busted cell or the chatting system (rectifier or stator) needs looking at as they may be broken and the battery or getting charged when in use

Thanks for answer. I know that these bikes are very picky for battery voltage/condition. But I think that it does not make sense that it made this fault today after two hour driving. Voltage should be good then. And the battery is almost new.
I have to measure the voltage from battery.

Thanks a lot for quick answers and help.
    I made checkings from voltage
    - battery 12,56 V
    - ignition on 11,96 V
    - idling voltage 14,1 V
so my conclusion was that everything were OK on this side.

Next I went through all the wirings under the seat. I tried to clean them and spray electric spray to them. I found that main fuse 30 A near battery was little bit oxidised, I cleaned it carefully.
Now it seems that everything works fine, the problem I mentoned has been gone now...
Feeling very good if this was the solution!!:)
