Has anyone fitted an X pipe to the new Bonneville? It's supposed to improve exhaust note and performance too, but does it? Some advice on this will be appreciated. The bike's used daily and is just great. Also done a few of my own mod's and updates to make riding life a bit more interesting but will explain them later perhaps. Thanks A
Many thanks Privateer. I have the Vance and Hinds pipes fitted as well so hope re fitting the original and new x pipe will make it better. Did you fit the x pipe yourself and was it straight forward?
Everyone I know who has had an XPipe fitted are pleased with the result. I'd avoid the cheaper ones if I was you though. The ones we've seen at the 'cost conscious' end of the market brought in by customers aren't tapered and don't line up squarely, so the extra labour cost getting them on far outweighs the extra initial cost of better quality ones.
I can vouch for the Weslake xpipe as well designed and manufactured. You can find them at pretty keen prices if you shop around.
Thanks Rich I will check that out. Triumph make one but there's too many vertical welds for my liking, I'm sure their version will offer too much resistance to gas flow. They also quoted over £400 fitted! Thanks A
Hi, A bit late to the party here, just betting my first Triumph this weekend, 2017 T120. I am interested in improving the sound! The bike has V&H pipes but they were singularly un-impressive v the standard ones, at least just running the bike on the stand, maybe better on the road? So it seems the first thing to do it remove the "snorkel" ? Sounds easy. I don't actually have the bike yet though so I have no idea what I'm talking about (thinking of becoming a politician). Then maybe consider getting an X-Pipe fitted? Comments sort.
