Hi all I'm Maurice I live in Rushden Northamptonshire I ride a tiger 800xc I love the bike but it didn't get off to a great start I didn't buy from a triumph dealer and they turned out to be a bunch of sharks (can't put what I really want to say about them) but would never buy from them again and certainly wouldn't recommend there bike shop It all started to go wrong after they delivered the bike I was living in Blackpool and was planning a trip to Europe so I did all the usual checks and found it had just water in the radiator and the oil was nasty they said they had serviced the bike but there is no way they had even touched it and it only had 12k miles on it and to cut a very long story short the starter gave up on me when I was travelling south to Dover luckily I was staying at my sisters for a couple of days so had it recovered to blade in Swindon and £660 later I finally got accross the water stopped in Germany Poland and finally onto Ukraine and back. I do have another bike but not sure if I can mention my busa on here lol I'm also possibly looking to buy a rocket 3 to be a bit more in line with my girlfriends Indian scout I also did have a speed triple 1050r but it just wasn't my thing but did take off all the stuff I bolted on not sure whether to ebay it or not.
Welcome to the madhouse you should fit right in. To keep the inmates happy we will need photos. Also check out this year's Gmu. Tucker
The bike shop in question is jem speed shop in batley they are the biggest bunch of cowboys going I'm no expert but I do know you don't put just water in the radiator of any bike I wouldn't trust them as far as I could kick them avoid them at all costs
We do have a dealer and workshop review section in the forum, feel free to add to it with an informed review
Hi Maurice and welcome to the forum Some stealers are bastards. Good to here you are getting the best out of s bad deal. Look forward to some pix (even the scout )
Good morning Maurice and welcome. Sorry to hear of your bad experience. Don't feel too bad, we are all taken in to one degree at some point. Remember to always ride safe and enjoy!
Hello Moe and welcome to the Triumph Asylum - you'll see why soon enough!! Nursie will be round soon with your 'meds'. Enjoy...................................
Welcome Maurice. I had a bad experience too when buying my Daytona. So many bodges hidden by the ‘mechanic’ I bought it from, I’m virtually rebuilding it to fix everything. You live and learn though eh? I hope the Tiger is all good now and you’re enjoying it Why not put a post up on here to sell the bits you’ve got? I’m sure there’s plenty of willing buyers here.
Welcome Maurice sorry to hear of your probs. Not experienced any rip offs, but always deal with main manufacturer dealers. Good luck.
Yeah tiger is all good now mate I've actually just bought a Bluetooth obd11 tool to reset the service spanner I highly recommend it but don't buy a cheap Chinese one it cost me £11 plus the tune ecu app cost me £10.49 but we'll worth it and would be happy to do anyone else's for free got to be cheaper than main dealer prices as I do all my own services
