Bobber Black Vs Sport Bikes

It's your bike and if you love it that's all that matters, although I have a speed triple which is brilliant, my love of my life is my Harley

 

I agree, not my thing but I understand why people buy them, they look cool, the image is nice and laid back, relaxed. I’m just not into the whole retro scene, not my thing, but I’m certainly not hostile to that genre of bike.

 

Been there done that, sports bikes, big trailies, tourers, don't knock it till you try it I say, and in 37yrs of biking I've done it all. Now enjoying the hell out of my cruiser. I don't feel the need to dress up as a power ranger anymore, or the latest 1000 quid textile suit, but hey if that's your bag go ahead.
Get on you bike and ride I say.

 

I have an explorer and a speed triple and love the bobber, its a pleasure bike, looks great, i am sure rides great aswell. For me, the bobber is a little low and i prefer to be higher. But totally get why anyone would have one.

Basically a Bobber Black with a passenger seat

Seems alot of sports bike riders measure bhp as the size of there willies...... I heard shit like that when I owned my vrod I just take the piss out of them...... 130mph wheelies "go on show me then" or "look at your tyres,, you need to learn how corner first" I just let them crack on mate, who cares, I didn't, motorcycling isn't about being as fast as ya can is it.
By the way I absolutely love the bobber, they're totally different and as cool as feck!!

 

My brother has a bobber and I have the speedmaster.He also has a speed triple and I a street triple.We love them both and ride them for different experiences depending on who is with us (the misses).
I don't give a S..t what other people think of my bikes as they are what I enjoy.
And yes if its wheelies at 130 mph they are idiots and not the kind of people I would associate with.

Who needs a bike that does wheelies at 130mph. Who needs a bike that will do 130mph plus?. Most people will never use the potential of these bikes. Plus after a short while, your wrists, knee's ache.
I know which bike i would pick. A bobber is an individually styled bike. Not fast Some say can't wheelie but ive seen one do it. I bet it will last longer than a highly tuned sports bike.
To be honest who cares what others think about who rides what. Its the enjoyment the bike gives the owner. It would be a boring place if everyone owned the same bikes/cars.

 

I completely agree, it’s a broad church and we’re all into different stuff, main thing is that it’s motorcycles we’re into, doesn’t really matter to me which flavour.

 

I personally wouldn’t want a bobber of any make, the riding position is all wrong for me, but I would defend the right of anybody to own any bike that they choose if it’s what they want.
I ride a Street Twin which is old school and not very fast, but it suits my riding style these days, as does my old slow Suzuki.
After all, we all ride bikes whatever the make, just maybe for different reason.

 

About 95% of all sports bike riders will never use 40% of the bike potential with over 200 bhp, the 5% are others are gifted racers.

 

I have 2018 Bobber (Matte) Black and I love it. Btw, I'm the only one among my friends with a non-sport bike and it's totally fine.

 

I was visiting my triumph dealership in Ongar a while back, and took a Bobber out for a spin. The foot forward seating position with all your weight on your arse doesn't make it wrong. It just isn't right for ME at this time.

Freedom comes in many forms; chain belt and shaft drive; sports, cruiser, touring, adventure. I prefer sports tourers as they are kinder on my knees than pure sports bikes. I don't need a gazillion horsepower for my riding style. I like the retro bikes for their more relaxed riding position.

Everyone is different in what bikes they like and how they ride and (within boundaries of safety and social decency) that should be celebrated rather than used as a mechanism to criticise.

Edit: So when you give that bloke riding a Harley a nod, you know he’s seen you but he steadfastly refuses to return the courtesy, remember it isn’t the bike that is at fault so much as the rider perhaps requires an adjustment of attitude.

 

It’s just bollox banter, looking for a rise... as has been eloquently said before, either join in and give them it back or fuck ‘em, who cares what they think.

 

I certainly would not be concerned one bit what anybody else thinks! IMO, this is like everything else, diversity! One man's poison, as they say! Ride on and enjoy.

 

Being part of Triumph riders the word broad church comes up a lot. Many of the rides are grouped by bike type, but more for guys with common interests.
I see large cruisers pass sports bikes on twisties that would sure up the jibes at the next stop.
Remember Dave, you love your bike, and some guys are twats. Ride with pride

 

Sorry, forgot to mention 130 can also be expensive, so not that cool
