Funny...I been looking at those same brands but for my 2003 R6 streetfighter conversion project. It looks like both LSL and ABM provide a complete conversion kit.
At this time, I have adjustable clipons from Apex. With these I've been able to raise my clipons by 2". But I still want to switch to a handlebar for better maneuverability

I looked long and hard at all the top yoke options I could find and for the money they cost, wasn't impressed so I decided to make my own. But...

I have the Triumph heated grips on my R and they require a specific end fitting shape (to route the wiring) that you just don't get on regular bars. I believe the new Scrambler has that same bar end shape, but I think they're too wide for the R. So I'm again trying to figure a way to re-position the original actual bars to suit how I want them.

In the meantime I bought some cheap bar risers from eBay. They are simply mounted in the original risers and provide their own bar clamp almost 3" higher. I also made some angled bushes so I could alter their angle too and their position is now how I need them. It looks a bit hideous with these risers, but it'll do while I figure out a final solution.

That looks like a good solution.

This are the Apex riser clipons on my R6 that I’m still not sure I’ll keep.

I had looked at Apex, but they require a special bar, whereas I want to use the original Thruxton R bars. Also, they don't go high enough. I don't know why they limit themselves to only 4", but whatever the reason, not high enough for me.

Fitted these a couple of years ago as a make do until something else raised bars 1.PNG became available. Still on there now......Refuse to pay £300+ for a top yoke

Thought you bought an LSL top yoke for less than that?

I'm still using the same riser extenders, until I finally figure out what I'm going to do.

If that was aimed at me...

The angle of the photo distorts the mirrors into looking rather ungainly and much larger than they are in real life. They don't look out of place.

Ah yes, ABM, that's it. A nice yoke, decent price although still not exactly cheap. What I don't understand is why they ONLY make it available in black. Seems bizarre when the original is so obviously NOT black. Ok, have black as an option, that I'd understand. But ONLY black? As I said, bizarre.

Would look sooo much better polished. I take it you must be in excess of 6 foot tall in order to need them over & above the stock item

Not at all. I'm well under 6 ft and I don't think Midas raised his due to being tall either. I gave up riding sports bikes when I realised I no longer wanted to have to wrap myself around the petrol tank in order to reach the bars. I have performed surgery on several bikes in order to achieve the upright riding position I find comfortable (and remove fairings etc as I now prefer the 'naked' look):-

The Thruxton R appeals to my sense of nostalgia (with no need of the rose tinted spectacles) but has standard bars I find way too low to be truly comfortable and when I'm not happy with something like that, I change it. :)

Sorry mate, I've only just seen this. They are ROX Speed 2"..... 7/8 to 7/8 risers. I have recently fitted a complete ABM top yoke/bar conversion so the ones you see on my bike are for sale. They cost £105 new and are in as new condition, I'll take £55 including postage if your interested..

Ah so you've finally got the ABM top yoke on. How is it? Comfortable? Some pictures of it fitted would be good to see.

The funny thing about bar position.
It has nothing to do with either height or your age, I’m 6’1 and 53 years old but way prefer the low bars, my pal John is 5’10 and 49 years old but wants to fit risers over the standard.

Conclusion is whatever suits you is right. (For you)
