It would certainly make it easier, the less weight you have to deal with the better

I’ve been doing nothing with my Triumph today, in fact I’ve not even seen it for a while as it’s in a friends garage whilst we have our house knocked about!

Arrived ok . pens in the warm now.
I have a new Engine for her to fit another day. So im riding home monday on my new E bay bike that i have just seen for the first time when i turned up.. Happy enough with her . Penelope rode well even though the engine sounded like a traction engine.
The new lump should solve that when i get round to doing it.
The new bike is another ZZR1100.

I've not done much with so far but will be checking oil, water and tyres on my Trophy SE ready for a ride on 3rd February. I act as Safety Marshal for sporting events that take place on the public highway and 3rd see the first run of the season, the London Winter 10 kilometers run in London.

Apart from that I did put a deposit on the new Bonneville Diamond Edition yesterday but won't be doing much with it as it does not officially hit the showrooms until until April / May at which point I will probably be asking the forum about exhausts and luggage.

    Went to ride it.....
.....switched ignition on, neutral light but no oil pressure light?
    Hit the starter, dead!
Hit the starter again, turned over, didn't fire.
Hooked it up to optimate, showing 3rd light, not perfect but should be enough.
Same routine again with the starter, dead, then release and immediately push again, turns but not firing.
    Still no oil pressure light.
Left it hooked up to optimate.
This is why I get annoyed at the limited amount of time I have to actually ride it!!!!!!

Had a ride down to Romford yesterday on the Exploder. Went down via the direct motorway route, but seeing as the roads were surprisingly clean and dry returned by A and B roads via Woburn.

160 miles and apart from greasy roads around Woburn was a rather pleasant (and productive) ride out.

installed my USB outlet for using phone as a GPS. DIN plug straight into Triumph power outlet. Fit perfect behind the fly screen, which will add weather protection when in use.

I used the liquid shoe polish on my leathers to go over the unsightly damage caused by sliding up the road after crashing, that worked well on them too.

Restored factory settings on Speed suspension, except rear preload I give it a couple of turns above standard for the rounder rider, I may add to the front also.
I took it for a quick test and, I like it, at least its not weird, so Ill wait for higher temps at the end of the week and tweek it more subtly and get the sag set once I know properly how it feels.

Well not so much my Triumph but the trailer behind it, Fitted LED rear lights to trailer which was a ball ache,:mad: After much messing aboot it looked like I had constant brake lights on, turned out chinese lights was much too brighty. :(:dizzy:
I had to visit my mate who's a wizard with electronics he supplied me a couple of resistors (I think I got the name correct) to put on to tail light wire in order to slightly dim them, this did the job now you can see a marked difference when stop lights go on. So all is well with the world,
What else was I going to do all day, it was quite enjoyable eventually :D:D

BB3 - Please be aware (if you're not already!) of the amount of water vapour that is emitted when burning propane! From somewhere or other on the 'net, this is instructive "A gallon of propane gives about 90,000 BTU, burning a gallon of propane produces about a gallon of water (in vapor)"

I'd suggest that, if you possibly can, you should run a dehumidifier while you have the heater on and for a few minutes after it's shut down, especially of this is in an uninsulated container.

    Just my 2p's worth.
