Opinions On The Black Bonnie T120.

Matt is always harder to maintain, when you put cleaning products on they tend to go blotchy or just plain lifeless

Not a lover of matt. Yes harder to keep clean and can go blotchy. Then not a fan of the 1200 either had one hated it. Now got the 900 and love it to pieces. But that's just me.

Yes that is only my opinion. My 1200 I found dull. I was up ad down the gears all the time. And the bike had a hallow note even after decating and Norman Hyde peashooters fitted. But as I said it was me. As I have heard many reports that support my findings. Really its what you find suits you best.

Tried 900 and 1200, if you do a fair bit of 2 up then maybe the 1200. If not then the 900 is, in my opinion, a much "sweater" machine. Just putting my "tin hat" on now.

Just my opinion but it seams that every bike I see now is matt black. I went with the silver on my Street Twin because I thought it color matched the brushed aluminum accents on the bike.
But to each his own!

 

I put one on mine. Adds a few more horses and sounds fantastic. A couple of guys I ride with have now done the same on their Street Twin and Street Scrambler.

The thing is those high level V&H are hard to find. We bought the last of Triumph's UK stock, here at Woburn, and put them on the T120 Specials we built. If you can't find one and are interested let me know. I think we have a couple left (I'm on holiday atm so can't check right now).

Well for my 2 cents, I’m so rode both of them. I had owned a GSA for the past 5 years so wether that played in my mind set at all!
The 900 first it felt small and lacking power to me, I felt very underwhelmed.
In contrast when I rode the 1200 it just felt more substantial around.
I’ve now owned it for the past year and find it a lot of fun to ride and own although quite addicting in adding bits and bobs.
On the colour, I too wanted a matt black or Matt grey, but I just couldn’t find it all one so I went for a 2000 mile secondhand bike. It was a big dilemma at the time because like you said it was really only a thousand and a bit cheaper.
I have been told by other people who have owned a Matt bike that they tend to mark quite easy. But not owned so can’t say for sure.
