    Can I ask what octane gas you are using? Benefits of higher octane or no difference?

    Motorbike engines are built to be able to use the most basic of petrols found around the world. Whatever is cheapest on your local forecourts will be perfectly fine buddy. No need for 'super' fuel or additives either.

    No benefit at all to higher octane fuel - no noticeable improvement in performance or fuel economy - waste of money. There, I've said it! :D:D

    I use 93 octane Ethanol free gas in my bikes, the highest available in my area. I'm not sure of the benefits, if any. The reason is that it is supposed to be best for an air cooled bike, 06 Scrambler.

    Performance improvement mainly in your head, but higher octane burns at a lower temperature, so less bluing and better in hot climates. Not worth the expense unless tuning to the octane for racing.

    I've tuned my bike on a Dynamometer , always run ultimate 98' . Bike running much better on ultimate than std , fuel economy especially !!

    Google ‘Research Octane Number’.

    When you understand that each gallon has pretty much the same energy potential but burns or detonates according to cylinder pressure......and realise you are running moderate pressures with a fairly dumb ECU devoid of sensors.....you will save your cents.

    Other additives that lubricate or dissolve deposits are a subtly different
    thing.

    The big HOWEVER is the variance in Global fuel quality at the pump. In Europe it is all top end but bikes are not re-tuned for Africa as a Lamborghini might need to be. And FINALLY because we just would, wouldn’t we, we use different octane RON and MON measuring systems. 91 US equates to about 97 Europe.

    No gains to be had unless the ECU is re-tuned to deal with high octain fuel...however if you do using lower octain could then cause det.
    It would be way better if they fitted a decent ECU and ran flexy fuel sensor.
