There is a black cable with a connector on it what is it for.is it to connect it to a computer.can you connect a trickle charger to it.
Take nearside side panel off, follow the cable, if it goes back to each side of battery it's for an optimate or similar charger. They make it much easier to keep batteries charged rather than taking battery off etc every time. Connectors are usually a rubber looking thing and when cover is opened (keeps water out, rain and bike wash stuff) you would see a white plastic connector, one side square, one side round so it cannot be connected wrong way round.
I have just bought an optimate charger but it doesn't fit should i be able to buy an adaptor.the connector on my bike is exactly as you described it.
They can be fiddly, make sure you try both ways round and push and twiddle a bit. If yer just bought one yer could always replace lead that's on with new one, but shouldn't be necessary
The first pic is exactly the same as the optimate lead I fitted to my tt600, it also fits the oxford Maximiser that I got as gift not so long ago, by purchasing the adaptor lead from keiss it also powers my heated waistcoat in colder weather, I'm at a loss as why your optimate will not fit, unless of course, they have changed the connector since I purchased mine.
Sraighten that pin in the connector, I think it will fit ok as I said fiddly even without a bent pin.
