Hi I am Ste a life long biker with a couple of breaks (Kids, work ,etc) I have recently got back in to it after a 5 year break, I was undecided whether or not to buy a cheep hack just to find my road legs, or bit the bullet . What the hell you only live once I bought a 18reg Truxton 1200, a Black Beauty and I Love It. P.S. I am a newbie to Forums , threads and stuff like that, in fact this is my first ever post, so I may be slow to get going at this, I will post a photo as soon as I work out how to do it.. Thanks for having me.
A Thruxton in black? You'll be making several inmates here giddy with joy. A photograph will send them completely over the edge!
Welcome to the Asylum you should fit right in. To keep the inmates happy we will need photos. BLACK bike great colour you're got. Tucker
Welcome aboard Ste, hope you enjoy the forum, have fun on your new steed but take it easy until you're acquainted with each other.
Yes, hello and welcome from a St. Helens emigre! I was actually born in Liverpool (thievin' Scouse git!) but raised form the age of 2 to the age of 18 in Sutton, St.Helens, so it holds some good memories for me. And I spent more than a few Saturday afternoons at Knowlsey Road in the glory years of the mid sixties. Happy days. Like most places, though, it's completely changed - not always for the better, I guess - over the last 50 plus years! Anyway, nice choice of bike - keep it shiney side up and enjoy! Regards, Adie
Ste13 Welcome to the Family. You know we inmates will be waiting for a picture of the steed. Gives us something to drool over while waiting for nursey with the medication. Ride Safe Joe.
Thank You All for your very warm welcome . Adie I am Sutton born and bred so may be I have seen you about back then. I can only post one photo for now because the file size is to big on the others , "some thing else that I will have to work out how to do" oh well I will keep trying it gives me some thing to do on the long nights.
Whoa - really? Could be a very small world ..... if you were around there in the sixties! My family left there in about '68 'ish and we moved to Winwick ...... not as inmates, of course. Well, at least that's what I tell everyone. Spent most of my childhod in a small semi in Robins Lane (number 191); primary school down the road and then Cowley Boys. I got my first Triumph in 1966 and have been an acolyte ever since. Best PM me if you can relate to any of that, especially if you're still in Sutton - it would probably bore the pants off the rest of the patients here ........ I DO love Thruckies - had a test ride on the 1200 R at Fowlers in Bristol and loved it, though it did kind of feel a bit like a Ducati rather than a Bonnie with that firing order!
