General Aviation generally don't fly below 500ft so that makes sense but gas pipeline inspections, power line inspections, police, air ambulance and military will all regularly fly down to ground level throughout the country and mostly don't need any prearrangement :)

all military fly zones are classed as restricted on the software which gets updated pretty regularly, so hopefully not an issue either. I honestly feel it is not really something that is an issue unless both parties are being possibly irresponsible. I try to ensure all my flights are safe and carried out with respect for others, I guess not all folk are as careful. I love the flight restriction map DJI has, it makes it so much easier to know where we can fly safely.

I live very close to Yorkshire, just a couple of miles in fact and my Dad was a Yorkshireman so I'm kind of half Yorkie. Born in Lancashire and my Mother was a Lancastrian. So, I do have some natural aversion to spending money as you might expect. However, I have been known to buy the odd round in the pub, I just can't remember when. As for buying myself a drone for Christmas I was wondering if £300 might get me something good enough to have a decent play with ?

This one has had some good reviews, 18min flight time, 800m range and well within your budget:

That currently also has £85 off the usual RRP so is a good deal at the moment! :)

We bought one at work to do marketing promos. Lasted a couple of weeks before it buzzed off and didn't come back.

Approved! It’s a good substitute to the Honda you wanted, the price is fair (on face value) and it’s in your pond!! It just needs a amber hazard beacon fitting before you ride it! Heh heh heh

According to the Daily Mail report yesterday, some types are to be banned from flying due to the fact they loose control and fly off , including DJI 200, so be careful what you buy and not wasted your money on something you cant (legally) fly.

The DJI 200 issue looks to be it falling out of the sky rather than flying off, but still just as worrying.
