Speed Triple 2010 I am looking for a way to carry around my puncture repair kit and fuel transfer kit, plus some basic cleaning stuff, I use a saddle bag but this gets in the way having to remove it when I park up, and I don't want to use a rucksack as I have a Helite Inflatable Air Vest so not a good idea I have twin under seat exhausts, powder black cans from Pipewerx, and the though occurred, what if I install a fake low boy can, but use it to somehow store all the stuff I want to carry. It would be connected only by the rear footrest hangar, unless I can work out a way to secure the front too. The end of the can could be detached using an exhaust clamp so it would only be undone when needed, and it would be closed up to prevent water getting in. But the idea of having a fake exhaust would either work or look really naff....I fear the later What other ways are there to carry these items around in a way that can be fixed to the bike and not nicked easily?
Assuming you don't fancy a ring lock tank bag then? Easy to put on and remove, and carry what you have listed with ease.
looking at the bike again, I wonder if I could fabricate a storage area that would locate under the seat, on the cross bar of the frame, above the exhaust pipe...but not too close Google pic search Using some weather proof fabric with cardboard insert for rigidity, some velcro fasteners to the frame and a zip opening at the side, maybe a heat guard across the bottom near the exhaust pipe
The extra pipe would look really odd from behind I reckon so the using of existing space would get my vote. Instead of cardboard look out for correx (I think it's called) which is corrugated plastic. Looks just like part of a cardboard box but it's plastic not paper-based so will not go soggy and lose its integrity it things get damp inside.
Could you find somewhere to mount this? https://www.adventure-spec.com/default/tools-adventure-spec-tool-tube.html
That is pretty much what I am after! I will look into this further as it may fit into the space I mentioned earlier, (need to find the dimensions)
https://sw-motech.com/en/bike/TRIUM...age/tank+bags/EVO+tank+ring/4052572014790.htm Just one of many fuel ring mounted tank bags. Easiest thing out. Ring sits around where you put the petrol in. Tank bag of appropriate size sits on that. Easily removed for fuel or when you stop. Do a search on google for further fuel ring tank bags.
Thanks, but I am after something more out of the way and hidden that would stay with the bike I appreciate the direct link though
There's this https://www.cymarcbikeparts.co.uk/r1200gsa-lc-number-plate-carrier-box-434-p.asp Not sure if it's any good for you or not
I have tail tidy and not sure it would support the weight of what I want to carry. I am liking the idea of he tool carrier bottle option, I need to check what space it would fit if I can get it under the seat
got baglux tank cover and tank bag ,cover came motea Germany 1/2 price of anyone here and bag I got got off net ,got shoulder straps on it expands and has rain cover ,keep a few tools in it puncture repair kit, phone, keys etc
I fitted one of these to the Tiger - obviously easier as it just attaches to the inside of the pannier rails. (with a bit of fabrication). Carried spare bulbs, small tool kit, cable ties and a couple of other bits on the German GMU but it won't take too much weight such as a hefty disc lock. It actually pulled the end nut through the plastic hole but I sorted that with a couple of big washers either side of the plastic.
