Part Number Confusion

No idea, do you know what the jw means? hopefully someone will come up with an answer

 

I can't help on the 'JW' mystery. I generally use Bike Bandit and Pandora (dealer in Tennessee) for parts. I looked at your bike on Bike Bandit and the part number I see for the sprocket is T2012516 and the sprocket carrier assembly is T2012140. I haven't had any problems with parts from these two sources in the past.

 

If you use the following link it uses triumph part numbers and only lists the one part for your bike, and they're cheaper than WOT.

So glad you posted that, Oldyam. I was about to suggest using Fowler's website to check. The WoT website is, I find, much easier to navigate and better laid out, but I discovered recently that pretty much anything from Triumph - with the exception of "end of line" clothing, for which WoT have some arrangement with the factory - should be available from any main dealer at the same (or very close to) price.

Joe, if you're going to order this stuff from the UK and don't really want to pay $70US on post and packing, let me know - I'll happily order it, and turn it around to you at whatever it costs me. Won't be cheap, but I doubt very much it will be 70 bucks! The only downside might be delays in turnaround so, if it's urgent then you might want to take the hit.

You don't need to be patient. You need to buy a second bike! Given the variety of models, etc., none of the dealers can stock anything but the most commonly used parts. Some of the parts I've ordered probably come from a large supply operation here in the US (one week turnaround), but I'm convinced that a few of the things I've ordered have been supplied from international sources, and even manufactured for the order (2-3 week turnaround). Unfortunately, we all get spoiled by the automotive industry and their supply chain which builds-up our expectations.
