    Hello all -

My new forum member status is a direct result of my new bike; a T120 Black. I'm currently without her, sadly, as she's in the shop getting her 500 mile break-in service done. It's been three days since we've spoken.

It's an open relationship, though. I was very clear about that from the start. She must understand that there's also a Ducati Monster 796 in the picture, and they have to share the garage. So far, it's going really well and we're all very happy.

I can be seen spending time with my girlfriends in southwest Ohio, but more often than not, we jump the river and spend our time on KY roads, which are far superior.

I'm hitting up my first track day this weekend at Mid-Ohio. T120 will stay home, but she seems to understand.

Looking forward to participating on the forum! Cheers.

    Evan

    Thanks for the welcome, all.

I'm looking forward to coming here for all sorts of reasons related to the bike, and maybe even some that are not!

    Few other points on me:
    - The DUC was my first bike, of which I've put on over 20K miles, so getting on the Bonneville for the first time was quite different. Having no experience on another bike, I loved them each more for their differences. Oddly, I loved the ride the Bonneville gave me, but it also made me appreciate the DUC more for what it does. Big driver behind the decision to get the Bonneville was my girlfriend's desire to ride with me. We'll get out a lot together with this bike so looking forward to beginning a "touring" phase of my motorcycling experiences.

    - Avid MotoGP fan and bike racing in general and try and catch rounds in person whenever I can. In the past 12 months, I've had the good fortune to see MotoAmerica in Pittsburgh and Sonoma, and MotoGP in Austin and Valencia. Sad to have Indianapolis no longer on the schedule, as that was a race I used to hit every year, as well.

    - I know these forums have tons of guys who love to modify their bikes. Buy a new one and instantly start ripping stock parts off of it. I'm not one of those guys! But mostly because I'm terrified to touch the bike with any sort of tool. I'm not mechanically inclined and do not desire to have either of my machines to be the first to learn on. That said, I appreciate what a lot of the mod guys do.

    Cheers

I don't think you have to be particularly mechanically inclined to do the basic bike maintenance. Routine maintenance is oil and filter change, and chain slack adjustment. Relatively easy work. And you will save a lot of money.

Concerning mods I would start with a good windshield. The upright riding position needs a good shield. And not just a fly screen. See mine below which was the touring screen for the Street Twin. It works well at freeway speeds. I am sure the T120 has a similar size wind screen. And a Haynes shop manual is a good investment.

I can tell by your wonderful introduction that you are cut from the same wood as the rest of the guys here.
There's is one Einstein on the forum (what I'm told) than for a long time there's nothing (my own experience) than comes the rest. I'm way after them by the way, hahaha.

And for now, I still have a steady relationship with my Bonnie T120 black (but it's silver, don't tell anyone)

Thanks. I've been thinking about the windshield, for sure, and love the suggestion of the shop manual. If anything, it will make me look and feel like maybe I'm hardcore wrenching grease monkey!

Triumph calls the wind screen for the T120 the 'long haul' screen. This is what it will look like.
