Only buy Kevlar jeans that have a full Kevlar lining. If you come off and you are wearing jeans that have only partial lining, the unlined parts will go through and rip and tear. This destroys the jean and you may find the lined parts are not covering what they should when the whole lot is in tatters.....

I returned to bikes after a 25year absence last June and bought a pair of Draggin jeans for £200 in dealership. Only partially lined and not comfortable for a guy my age. Then visited Hood near Thetford and got comfortable pair, 14oz denim, full Kevlar lining, knee and hip pads sewn to my preference for under £150. Bargain. But I believe latest kit is no longer made in England

    Yup
"The main production will now take place in China but the development, design, sales team and most importantly heart of the Hood products will remain in the UK"

I have hood jeans and their quality is top notch. I found the hip Armour d30 to be too stiff. So I swapped that for a Knox cut out Armour and very much comfortable now.

I did go down with these jeans (hood) on my speed triple and they held up very well. The Jeans is not damaged in anyway. The stitching Armour are all intact. They are nice and warm in winter.

And as Gazza said the jeans were tailored for my short ass;)

Totally agree, I wear Hood jeans and they are brilliant. Thankfully I've never yet found out how they fare with tarmac. Thanks for the tip re knox armour.

Where did you get you Knox armour? I might give it a go on my jeans.

    ^^^^^

    HI Peter

I got the hip armour directly from Hood jeans. They were pretty fast with the postage too. Give them a call.
