This may sound like a very dumb question, but here goes anyway. I've managed to break the adjuster on the gear cgange linkage, my excuse is that the adjuster was siezed into the ball joint. I need to replace the adjuster and the ball joint, here's the dumb question, How do I get the broken ball joint off and replace it with a new one? It's for a 92 Trident 900

Thank you for this but I've already been to every website I can find and nobody shows how to remove a ball joint

The ball joint is part of the gear change lever you need to replace the lever complete & the adjuster and just note that one of the threads is Left Hand & the other is Right Hand, ie the LH one is undone in the opposite direction to normal.
