Hi all , has anybody ever tried fitting a Doughty washer to sump plug rather than the aluminium one ?, I know that it is sold as an alternative on new indian enfields , and I used them on my 500 enfield .
Asking as I have some that will fit.

I always use a new copper washer on all my engines, never had a leak from a drain yet, you will probably find you will need to renew a dowty washer anyway, its all down to a bit of crush on tightening, they all do this to one extent or another, whether its aluminum, dowty or copper, as said gasket sealer is overkill.
