Back on the bike again after a break.................of 45 years! Having test ridden quite a few bikes including Harley's in order to decide what I wanted, the T120 was by far superior to all of them. The worst were the Harley's. I am now like a child with a new toy and have to ride all day every day! This has highlighted a few handling errors and I feel I am on a steep learning curve but loving every minute of it. I am sure this is the best bike I have ever ridden. Looking forward to contributing to the forum when I have a few thousand miles under my belt (which won't be long).
Welcome aboard, enjoy the forum and your new steed, do take it easy until you've got your eye in, far more nutters out there since you last rode, you'll need to grow an extra pair of eyes... In yer arse, lol.
Hi and welcome to the forum from a very local forum member! Good choice of bike - Destination Triumph Solent I'm guessing? Plenty of local biker cafes (Loomies, as noted above in particular) and bike nights. Poole Quay every Tuesday, Loomies on Wednesday (and Alton Station Cafe) and Southampton Bike Night on Thursday. Are you familiar with the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride? Essentially raises money and awareness for men's prostate cancer and take place simultaneously in participating cities all over the world on the same day - 30th September 2018. (https://www.gentlemansride.com/). Basically involves classic or modern classic and custom bikes and people dressing smartly and stupidly to follow an organised route. Great spectacle and good fun to ride in - I only mention it as this years Solent Ride starts at the Guildhall in Winchester.
I'm also near Winchester. Just got my T120 Black a month ago after 15 years off a bike. Another place is the pub in Kings Sombourne Wednesday evenings and The Haven nr Salisbury anytime.
Actually the bike was advertised at a dealership in Wigan. I initially dismissed it because it was too far away but the same add kept popping up on my FB news feed so I decided to ride up on my scooter last Wednesday, stay the night and test ride it the next morning. I could not leave Wigan without it Went back to Wigan on the train this morning (Tuesday) to get the scooter and have just got back. Now enjoying a well earned beer, 217 miles of motorway isn't my idea of fun. I am hoping to do the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride.
217 miles of motorway isn't my idea of fun on any bike! The DGR is a lot of fun and too good to miss if it starts in your home town - there'll be lots of Bonnevilles.
