    Hi All

Went to get my new bike out today to take for a run over to Triumph Glasgow to arrange first service and It wouldn't start.

Every thing powers up as it should when switched on but when I press starter nothing not even a click. checked side stand switch and clutch switch and both appear okay.

The menu button on right hand switch unit does not work and nothing on left handlebar switches work not even the horn.

Checked all fuses and all good.

Called Triumph breakdown and RAC turn up scratched their head and said they would organise recovery to Triumph in the morning in Glasgow as they didn't have a clue.

They also ask me to call Triumph Glasgow to advise bike is coming in said it wasn't their job lol

Anyway spoke to Triumph Glasgow and they were very helpful and said they would call me once bike arrives with them.

I know Triumph recently did a recall on 2018 RS for left hand handlebar switch unit but according to Triumph Glasgow mine should have been done at factory after they checked my vin number.

Will let you know how it ends up, just a little bemused by it all.

Brilliant mate made me smile I have a R1200 GSA too so no biggy just think it must be a little embarrassing for Triumph. I am sure they will sort it out.

Bad news about ya bike bud, hope ya get sorted.

Had my rs in for a service Saturday at Newcastle, told them the brakes don't feel good, service guy agreed with me after a test ride, said I needed new discs and pads..... after 700 miles.
Call from the service manager today got told they will change the pads only under warranty..... i'm so happy triumph UK put safety paramount before cost.

Think I would be dropping my bike off at dealer with a letter of rejection and see how they view your complaint then.

There is no way they can justify a set of brake discs and pads is down to you after 700 miles.

Is this on a street or speed. I knew there was a recall on the street, but wasn't aware of the speed?.

So it appears Triumph Breakdown just use RAC' they turn up today to recover my bike with full size car transporter and a ramp that must have be 40 degrees. Driver didn't look to happy about getting bike up ramp and neither was I although his boss advised him to give it a bash when he called him.

At that point I told chap nicely that he wasn't taking my bike then called Triumph breakdown which are just RAC to advise on situation and suggested they send more suitable transportation for my bike. I also called supplying dealer to advise of situation and Triumph Glasgow which were expecting my bike this morning.

I am glad I am not stuck at the side of the road somewhere you would think they could be more organised regarding recovery of bikes. Come on Triumph UK its called Triumph Breakdown service not "RAC we dont have a clue but well will give it a bash" You really could not make this nonsense up.

Anyway this might become a saga so will keep you all informed.

TBH a bike of this age (First service), I would expect the dealer to recover bike and get it sorted ASAP!

Had my discs and pads replaced under warranty without any hassle when I wasn't really expecting them to be replaced, I only had a very slight oscillation under very light braking rolling up to traffic lights etc. This was after a casual mention when taking it in for the 1 year service with about 4000 miles on the clock. So if there's a need for yours to be replaced I'm amazed you're having this hassle!

It is hassle col c, was told they'll change the pads first, so once fitted when I leave the showroom and return 5 minutes later they'll set another warranty claim motion for the discs... then I'll probably have a 3 week wait to get them fitted. What a fart on.

This maybe unrelated to your issue but I picked up my brand new speed triple rs on Saturday and on my journey home from the dealer I got a symbol on the screen saying my key is out of range, it was in my pocket so couldn't be, pulled over and switched off and back on and it cleared, anyone come across This as my dealer didn't know and said they weren't concerned about it

Wee update guys. Just heard back from Glasgow Triumph Bike had right hand handlebar switch binnacle replaced and bike still would not run. They then also replaced left hand handlebar switch binnacle as that was also faulty.

They called to let me know bike is now running as it should and they are going to arrange to have bike delivered back to me..

I have asked Triumph UK for a written report once they have investigated faults on both switch binnacles at Triumph and also with binnacle manufacturers.

I've hopefully just been unlucky but I have advised them that I reserve the right to reject bike once I get it back if I have any more issues.

This was meant to be a long term second bike for me but not so sure I will be keeping it now.

Triumph Breakdown service is a complete joke I have to say. Triumph just farm it out to RAC and first two gents who turned up did not have a clue.

Glad they've sorted the problem, I understand your mind set.
All I can say is once you get it back take her out and I do believe it will be forgotten about within 5 minutes of riding... the rs is an absolute weapon on the road, I've not riden a bike like it.
Rosie is an absolute legend. Haha
