Hello from the Big Island. I took possesion of a stock 2006 Bonnie back in early May. I'll try to embed a Flickr image.

2006_black_bonnie_ash.jpg Thanks! Slowly making some cosmetic bolt-on mods. Last Triumph I had was a '78 Bonneville. At my age I appreciate an electric start.
A little volcanic ash on the highway. No worries, I took the pic when I turned around and headed for safety.

Welcome from California. Small world. I was born and raised on Oahu. My parents are from Hilo and I had an uncle that lived in Volcano.

BTW, great looking bike. I have a new Street Twin.

Volcanic ash on the highway is not something seen in the UK! Due to an extended heatwave our roads are melting though!

    Welcome.

Alas, the ongoing eruption of Kilauea is becoming a serious problem on the Big Island. Fissure 8, down on the Puna Coast, is erupting 50-150 cubic meters of lava per second with no end in sight. Where I live, near the summit of Kilauea, we have been experiencing a magnitude 5+ earthquake every thirty hours or so for the last six weeks, again, with no end in sight :(

The problem with my black Bonnie is that it's not quite black enough. I am working replacing the chrome headlight nacelle with a gloss black version, same half-torpedo shape, but so far I've only been able to find matte black and satin black replacement units.
