Brand new to the site so forgive me if this has been debated to death. Currently have a sprint st 1050 06 plate. Only had it about 2 months and gave it a real good look over when I bought it, or so I thought. Recently noticed the paint is bubbling in 2 spots on the flat part of the tank. Anyone had similar issues, causes and ways to rectify etc. I assume being used bike no comeback with the dealer? Any advice would be handy. Cheers

The ethanol in the fuel is not great on paintwork, best suggestion is check which petrol stations put a lot of ethanol in their fuel and aviod them and of course be careful when you fill up.

    Cheers

Plastic or nylon tanks have a bad reputation for paint bubbling, my 99 Tiger had one blister that I had repainted a couple of years ago and has been ok since, now its just the Tribal decals that are fooked. There are plenty of theories as to why this happens and the ethonal one is one of them, try a google search and get advise from a decent sprayer first...

Cheers for the replies. I took it to the dealer I bought it from which incidentally it's still in its 3 months used warranty and just got fobbed off. Took it to another dealer who immediately said didn't look right. So much so the tank has moved forward and is fouling the steering close to the headstock. Will never use Carl Rosner again. Take your money then lose interest.
