At 900 miles and 6 weeks old the stepper motor packed in on my Tiger 800XC. Symptoms were not wanting to start and when it did start it would not tick over at all. All changed under warranty and the dealer gave me another XC to ride while it was being done so can not complain too much.

Mine played up just before I went to europe, all i did was spray a load of wd40 in there and all was fine, probably a bit of dust got in there.

Richard, have you had problems with it since the change?

No issues at all with the bike after the stepper motor, bike now at 7500 miles since the first of March. My only tiny issue is because I picked the XC version of the Tiger and only do road work and this slightly compromises the handling when pushed hard in the corners with it's 21" front wheel.

That's good news Richard. I'm surprised that the larger front wheel makes such a difference in handling.

main difference is there is a good choice of road rubber for the roadie's 19" front if you go for a 110/80R19, most popular is Michelin Pilot Road 4 Trail.
    I don't think there's a radial option for the 21" front.
