The open wheeled ones are Miget racers and Sprint cars. Run on dirt track in th US in the ‘50&60’s. Mostly small block Chevys 289/327’s different body manufacturers. I believe the top one is an Kurtis.

that's the name & he did mention they used to race them on the dirt tracks,i'm sure he said one of them had a fiat engine in it..i think it was the yellow one which was from 1937..or it could have been the white ones that had fiat engines

Then without opening one of the threads if you scroll down to the bottom it should have the option to
Start a new thread
Click on this and it will ask you for a title for your thread
Then go to the box after that and write what it is you want to write
Then just sit back and watch as firstly you receive lots of wisdom and information before the meds wear off and your thread turns into something completely different but thoroughly entertaining (usually)

 

Update....Daytona 1000 has brakes & it bloody starts!!!!!!!!!! Runs quite nicely considering I have not touched it since last year lol..shame on me eh. I did put new slow jets in it though so that must have helped. Used Millers Tank Safe over winter lay up so that's done its job too.
Life is gonna bugga it all up now as wont touch it again for a week or two

Just wanted to ask how you got on with test riding the Speed RS, is it on your Christmas list .

Hi Dave,
the new Speed RS is a definite improvement over the 17R I road last year. The demo bike didn’t have shift assist on it which was disappointing as without a doubt this would have enhanced the test. Handling is excellent, suspension & brakes are what you’d expect given the quality of the componentss. It feels powerful without being intimidating, in race mode I had a couple of nice power wheelies which the TC keeps sensible. Overall I would say it feels like my Street RS After a course of steroids. Personally I think for me I still prefer the Street RS & I reckon I will keep it for some time. There is a £3K price diffence which buys a few decent bike holidays or track days. The 1200 Tiger I tried was impressive, not at all the lump it looks when on the move & loaded with all the bells & whistles including shift assist!

Triumph do seem to be making jumps each time they release a new model, a case of having to, to stay competitive in the market, glad you enjoyed the Tiger, not my cup of tea but seems a strong contender in that sector. How did Dave get on at Snetterton? My neighbours daughter was racing there this weekend too but I've not heard yet how she did.

I don't know where he finished in his races just that he kept it sunny side up after the practice day crash, he reckons he's learning a bit more track craft now.

Pulled the T'bird out the garage today, had a 3 hour ride and then fuel'd it and cleaned it for my trip to Newcastle on Wednesday... Been riding the speedmaster for the past few weeks and I'd forgotten how relaxed the T'bird is..

I like my work and commuting on the Thruxton R makes on sunny days just makes the day even better It’s a fun bike and I love it, the polar opposite of the GS work-horse but I wouldn’t tour Europe two up with luggage on the Triumph

 

Having had my 2005 speedy for not that long, I was getting worried about the drive chain being too slack. And I thought I couldn't adjust it myself, as I didn't have a c-spanner. So I took it to a local shop to have it adjusted. After that I got big clonking noises when shifting up to 2 and three. Transpired the chain was way too tight! So I decided to readjust, and lacking the c-spanner just whacked the cogs with a screwdriver and hammer. Worked a dream, and no clonking any more!

 

Ordered a new front tyre, same again Continental Sport Attack 2. It also means they remain a pair.

Changed oil, filter,checked air filter,checked chain and adjusted more or less ready for our trip to Ireland on Saturday

 

Getting ready for my trip to Newcastle and meet with Dilligaf later today..........
