    Hi

I've just bought my first ever Triumph a 95 Triumph Sprint 900. Nice bike with 39k all the MOTs etc.

I'm going to build it into a Cafe Racer.

I am 69 almost and have just gone part time with work, giving me more time for my hobby - bikes.

My passion is engineering. I have a good workshop with lathe, milling machine, mig welder etc and have had projects all my life. I have made every kind of thing. I design in CAD and then make it.

I have a custom Fireblade (bought in bits on eBay and recomissioned by me), a stunt bike style GSXR (made by me), a well used Yamaha R1 with drag bars and custom bits (made by me), a BMW R1200RT - a great bike for shopping and winter, and the Triumph.

I plan to strip the Triumph of unnecessary weight, improve the suspension, replace the rear subframe and make a seat and tank and anything else needed. I want to build a bike evocative of the 60s/70s but with comparatively modern components.

First off I am going to sort the handling and anything else on the standard bike, use the bike in the summer and do my planning, work will start in earnest in the autumn.

I like quality engineering but I am not a 'polisher'. Bikes are for using.

    Thanks for looking!

    Pete

Are you going to enhance the performance ! Motor mods to get more get up and go ?? Cheapest mod is drill out the carburettor vacuum bypass ports ( speeds up response) to get more HP as well ! Hi flow air filters such as K & N and more open exhausts will give you more HP also , especially with drllidri and jetting to suit. Costs next to nothing.

This is my 'Old Skool' Fireblade. It was painted by Dave Dickinson 18 years ago. I bought it in a bit of a state, recommissioned it, changed to drag bars, GSXR radial master cylinder, raised the mirrors, lowered the foot pegs. I made the mirror risers, bar risers, peg lowering plates and lots of little pieces in ally and stainless.

There has been some damage to the paintwork in the past but it still looks good. Some people love it, some people hate it. You either get custom bikes or you don't. My bike, my rules!

Oh there are some good original nineties bits on the bike. JMC swinger, Zorstec exhaust, ZX9R calipers.
