    hi all,
Ok my 1994 Daytona 1200 runs like a dream , temp stays good on a run, But get me in a traffic jam up goes the temperature and it runs like s+++t . Also when its hot the neutral light will not come on , it does select neutral but I obviously have to clutch it to start it with a lot of load clanging . I do not have this prob when I start it at a normal temp . Ok I have had the coolant flushed , Also the fan kicks in as it should . Any ideas ? any one else had this prob with the old daytonas ? crazy thing is I have a 900 1994 Daytona , this has exactly same problem ,,, Thanks for looking

    Have you checked the thermostat?

Air lock in cooling system - unlikely on both bikes, I know.
    And yes, thermostat.
Could also try cooler (harder) spark plugs which may help (this theory is going back donkey's years but may still be valid!).
And finally (from me at least) the bleedin' obvious ... is there enough coolant in the systems?

Sounds pretty normal to me. Including the switch.

    Hi
I found a solution to the problem. The cooling fan switch has to be replaced by a Volvo 740 fan switch part no 1435059 it manufactured by fae. Guys this is a 100% fix, I read it on the forum And tried it today the temp gauge didn’t go above half way when the bike was idli. It works for me, worth giving a shot. Good luck
