I am considering selling my 16 plate Speed Triple R (15k miles) and getting a 15 plate Speed Triple 94 r with about 5k miles...in black

Can anyone confirm that TuneECU would give me full access to the bikes brains including ABS bleed function

It may cost me about £1,000 difference but I think it would be worth it, I would like full access to my bikes ECU and not have to depend on a dealer. I don't really think I benefit from the 16s traction control/rider modes/ride by wire throttle

    May I ask your thoughts?

Cheers Youngy, I have found it on the Tune ECU website

Speed Triple models TuneECU is available for as you say up to 735437 which I think is the 2015 model, but if I do go ahead with this, the VIN is the critical thing to check

We are like minded folk, I bought my black 94R new just before (& knowingly) the 2016 model with all its electricary was released for exactly the same reasons...... ....
And loving every minute of it, I've added Arrow cans, billet reservoirs and levers, bar end mirrors and LED indicators. I'm not a fan of tail tidy's but thought the standard pressed steel hanger a bit ugly and dated so I've managed to fit the plastic plate hanger from the 2016 model (turned out to be not as straight forward as hoped ). IMO the bike looks a million dollars in the gloss black with the understated retro white graphics (and black Ohlin fork).

And to answer your question, yes there's full access to the ecu including abs bleed. Some functions (abs bleed & service reset) you'll need to load TuneECU onto an Android and connect via bluetooth, for re-mapping you''ll need a cable connection.
So far I've re-mapped for the Arrows and checked throttle balance on mine via cabled Windows10 pc, not done a service reset but will be doing so in the next few weeks, I've done a reset on another members Speed so know that it works.
I've just retired so disposable income has taken a hit, plus I don't have a great deal of trust in your average stealer, having the capability to do my own maintenance and knowing it's done right, plus my nearest dealer being a 3-hour round trip away all adds up to the reason I went for the 94R.
I had a Multistrada just before and whilst the semi-active suspension was good I rarely felt the need to change engine modes so the added electricary of the 2016 wasn't a draw for me, the Ducati dealer was just as far away and when warranty issues put trips to the dealer into double figures it got a bit tiresome, so I returned to my trusty Triumphs.
The 94R has been to the dealer for it's 600ml and 1st year services, discs were changed under warranty at 1st year service and that's it....so I'm happy again :) (and the bike's unlikely to see a dealer again).

    Edit: ......It's a keeper. :)

Agree with every word you say

I had the 2010 Speed triple SE before my 2016 and loved being able to do all the work myself, now if I want to change the brake fluid I have to take it to the dealer.

I will keep my bike clean and maybe put it on Autotrader and see what interest it gets, with 15,000 miles and other than a bit of weathering (all weather riding) it is in perfect nick.

Yes, I've heard conflicting stories regarding bleeding abs systems, some say you'll be fine just doing a normal bleed, others say you could get corrosion in the ABS unit if not flushed through (fluid being hygroscopic leaving water there) and that's going to be a VERY expensive mistake. I wonder if dealers do a proper flush, I guess it depends dealer to dealer.

Considering how tight the rear wheel nut was done up at my 12k service (took all 16st of my weight on a breaker bar to release it), I am sure they don't check torque settings
The rear hub is stiff when adjusting the chain indicating it was not greased as I had specifically checked and I am sure the nuts on the suspension linkage hadn't been touched meaning they hadn't been greased as well.

This is why I would prefer to do as much servicing myself
