America Starting Problems....

Guys - Today has been hell, took the America out for a ride, stopped and started a couple of times but the third time I stopped the starter wouldn't even turn over, resulting in the AA relaying me home.

The fuses are all ok, all the lights and usual start up procedure works ok the Datatool S4 alarm is working, so I suspected the immobiliser part of the alarm was at fault.

I've tried disconnecting the alarm multipin plug and bridging 1/2 and 3/5 - and everything works except the starter still shows no sign of life, which does make me think is it the alarm/immobiliser?

Anyone else had this problem and have any suggestions?

Thanks for the replies, it was the battery.
I was too tired and it was too late last night to try anything, but after getting back from work today I tried it - the starter relay clicked, which told me it had recovered a little from yesterday, so I swapped out the battery from my Fazer and it worked.
It seems that the battery had gone past the point of no return and my optimiser isn't working properly.
A trip to the battery shop beckons....

 

I think I spoke too soon saying it was the battery.....
New battery installed, started just fine, checked the voltage when revving - 14V, so seems OK, but leave it a few minutes, try to start it again and it doesn't want to know.
What I have noticed is the alarm light isn't flashing on the speedo. That suggests there is something wrong wiring wise. I can see a trip to the dealer coming on as it's still under warranty.....

 

Sorted - it WAS the alarm. Replaced under warranty, all it cost was thirty quid for Blade Triumph at Stratford upon Avon to collect it in their van, take the bike away for a couple of days and for me to catch the train over and ride it back.
Not having a Triumph dealer in Birmingham now is a right pain in the arse, but I have got to say Blade Triumph in Stratford gave excellent service and thirty quid to pick up the bike in a dedicated van is pretty reasonable considering it's about a seventy mile round trip from them to me.
