    Help!!!

I have recently bought this as a non runner. I have cleaned the carbs put new plugs in. It starts up runs for 5 minutes, it then cuts out and will not start again. If you leave it for about an hour it will then start again but again will cut out after 5mins. If anybody has a suggestion it would be muchly appreciated.

    thanks

Try replacing the spark plug leads my Daytona when it gets hot plays up a bit when ticking over, may also be the ignition coils as it sounds like they maybe overheating when it cuts out it may be worth checking to see if you have any spark.

    Cheers

    Thanks Steve.

I think I have traced it back to the crankshaft sensor. One on order fingers crossed it will work.

I was going to suggest a blocked fuel tank breather, try running it with the cap off.......

Yes they are bugger for getting trapped when you put the tank back on, I got caught with this when I changed the rocker cover gasket on the Daytona, have you checked your plugs because if the gasket lets go the plugs fill up with oil.

Keep us posted about this, my 93 Daytona 1000 gets a bit funny when it gets hot, doesn't idle very well and very lumpy taking off from slow revs but is fine once you get going. My friend has also had the same sort of issues with his 750 Daytona. It also runs a hell of a lot hotter than my 750 Trident but that might just be the fairings. If I get a chance this weekend I may try and change the coolant

my sprint ran for about 8 miles then stopped completely after it had had the tank off for a repair. turned out to be the fuel pipes had kinked even tho they were new. the mechanic even knew that it was easy to screw up but he still did. it ran ok on prime position and got me back to the garage. Just in case this helps someone else out.

If you ever do get caught with this away from home then turn the fuel tap to prime and you should be able to get back to fix the issue.
