Hello all I am thinking of fitting aftermarket heated grips to my 2013 street, my friend says his tiger 800 has a socket already fitted for this purpose, I notice there's a fuse fitted in number 5 slot in the fuse box and has the heated grip symbol on the cover so does anyone know of a socket on my model

I fitted Oxford heated grips to my wife's 2012 Street Triple and in the end I wired direct to the battery. Bought a relay as was bothered about leaving them on, just have not got round to fitting it yet. With a relay the power still comes from the battery via the heated grips fuse but switched on an off by say the lighting circuit when the bike is tuned on.
Watch out for the screws in the bar ends, they had been locktited in and had a right game getting them out.

Yes indeed had to drill both screws out after the Allen key chewed them up!
I have found a wiring diagram on the net but uses a permanent live so investigated myself and the yellow number plate light wire becomes live with ignition turned on and will trigger the relay ok, was just wondering about a socket so as to keep things neat but can wire straight from the battery no prob. Also looks like the throttle tube will have to be butchered to accept the new grips which I am not to pleased about.

Yep a rough file is required on the throttle tube, but you wont see it when the grip is on. I super glued my grip to the tube. Just have to be quick getting the grip into the right place so the cable does not snag when the throttle is twisted.

Just a heads up for anybody who has Triumph heated grips, my other half has just taken delivery of a 2014 Street Triple R, adjusted the brakes for her, she needed them twisting down on the bars slightly for comfort. The wires from the heated grips run through a hole in the bars, it is very easy to pinch the wire when adjusting the lever clamps. How do I know.....ya guessed.
