Hi, could do with some tech advice please !

About a year ago I bought a 1995 Speed Triple 885 which was looking forlorn on eBay. Since then it's always been an intermittent starter and now it just won't start at all.

The current symptoms are that the starter motor will turn but gradually slow, as though the battery is dead (which it isn't). Then just the solenoid clicks. However it I put it in gear an rock it, starter motor will often turn over again.

I know it's not the battery because I've swapped it with a good one from my other bike and metered it. Engine isn't seized because once it does start it runs great. And I'm getting over 12v down at the starter motor so I don't believe it's the cables. I've bypassed the clutch lever cut out just in case.

I'm hoping it's just a duff starter motor and that rocking it in gear frees it up somehow. My concern is the dreaded sprag clutch which I read a lot about but not sure what's true and what isn't !

    Anyone got any thoughts/ideas ?

    Hi Rich
Check the regulator/rectifier they can be a pain when they go wrong?
