New to this forum but not to Triumphs. Owned a 98 T595, a few years back, owned a few litre sports bikes in between (5JJ 2001 R1, Gixer K3 & K5 1000's, 2002 955i Speed Triple, a few 90's Fireblades, a 2009 Blade, Mille R) then a 2013 Street Triple R (awesome) swapped that for a 2012 Daytona 675 last year and just picked up another stable mate for the 675 in the shape of a 2000 Caspian Blue Daytona 955i after selling my 4XV 98 R1. Put onto this forum by someone when I advertised Carbon Headlight buckets on eBay . Looks pretty good in here.
Welcome mate. If you'd like to put some faces to names check out to annual forum picnic - July in Brecon Beacons this year.
My first Trumpet, Then a few years after this sorted Speed3 Move on a few years to this sorted Street3 Which I then swapped for this mint Tona.
Welcome in, seen the thread on the Daytona, good work, we have similar taste in bikes (apart from the Blades). The Gixxer 1000K5 was the most bonkers, I have attached a photo of mine, litre sports bikes are a bit much for my ageing brain and smashed up left ankle these days so am on a 765RS which is the sensible choice for the distinguished hooligan!
Nice rides guys but I reckon the better bike was my RR9 Blade, the K5 was immense and I loved it but the Bade was exceptional. Oh yeah, and my K3 before I killed it! I love that RS by the way.
Hi Lynn Welcome buddy . I bought your carbon bowls. Cheers buddy. I fitted them on today and loving the look of it I am in total agreement about the Gixxer. I used to own K6 and it was one hell of a motor. The 954RR was a real lively bike Owned a 954RR Fireblade and a few R1s. The best R1 to me was the 5PW
Welcome to the forum, I'm fairly new myself. I bought a Thruxton R back in 2016 and get out around the South Wales roads on it as often as I can. If you're heading to Brecon, or along that strip somewhere, let me know and we can grab a cuppa and a bacon roll in one of the cafe's. PJ
Never ridden a Blade of any vintage so can't comment, been on quite a few different R1's, the R1M with full Akra and up/down quick shifter was like riding a skud missile with clip ons! I also love V twins, had a few of them Mille R, Mille Factory R, KTM Superduke & Tuono, all great bikes. The only Gixxer's I have ridden were my K5 1000 and my son's K6 750, is was his bike that turned me on to the idea that less is more, which is how I have finally arrived via a 675STR at owning the RS which is a fantastic bike.
Ouch! My K5 survived our crash better than I did, in fact it was delivered back to my house repaired before I got out of hospital (double compound fractures of left tib & fib), I spent 4 weeks in hospital and 2 years of rehabilitation/further operations to walk properly. I did return to riding within 2 months of getting out of hospital though, soon discovered limited left ankle movement and sports bikes don't mix so sold the K5 and bought a Super Duke
Can't remember if I mentioned the annual forum picnic in Brecon this July. https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/grand-meet-up-2018-wales.12452/
@PhilJ that would be good matey, @Bad Billy well done, proper injuries, I just had a bruised lower back and right heel and a PILE from hell Loving that Factory R, My Mille R was a bit more obnoxious that yours, it was the bright yellow one (Hardly a shrinking violet me!) Loved mine but I am a short arse so it had to go in the end! @Rich Bryce I'll try to get up there to meet everyone.
