hello everyone, I just joined the forum today. I found your site because I was researching how to drill my Thruxton R tope yoke nut, in order to fit a central mounting bracket for my phone holder. At present it is attached to the brake reservoir bracket, but is poorly positioned there and fouls the nose fairing when turning around in tight spaces. Has anyone successfully drilled their tope yoke nut and fitted a bracket there?

Welcome in to the best forum. I’ve not done the deed although there’s enough members on here now that might have.

Oooooh! that's a tough question; I'll ask my pet sheep for advice. It is however true, that we always keep a welcome in our hillsides; open to everyone who comes to visit us. Great biking roads through the heart of Wales as well.

Many thanks Rich, I am already going to the Welsh TT races near brecon; 3rd to 5th August. I'll see how the land lies for a trip to GMU as well.

I mount mine on the left handle bar. I engineered the fitting to make the mounting bracket thinner (grinder) o_O Moved the clutch lever bracket over by 4mm allowing said modified bracket to be fitted

Many thanks Ken, I had looked at that myself, but not gone as far as firing up the grinder.. Food for thought though, regards Phil J

I'm pretty sure you can purchase a drilled yoke top nut so one can fit an expanding post type fitment

Many thanks Ken, you might well be right there. I tried to avoid paying triumph dealer prices for it, but that could be the best option in the end.
