just wondering if anybody has any experience with 2001-2003 TT600. got the bike recently and seeing as I am new to bikes and this is my first bike I am looking for any advice on what to watch out for etc. also, I can't help but think the fuelling is.....erm, well just crap at low revs. i.e driving at low speeds the bike seems very jerky and it seems to jump up n down the revs slightly as if it doesn't like low speeds. I read that a problem with the TT is the fuelling and seen people with similar problems. has anybody got any experience with the TT and could offer advice and also, can the bike be remapped to smooth out the jerky ride? any help or advice would be greatly appreciated :)

    Hi Stevie9090,
I own a speed four, which I believe is a naked version of the tt600. Not sure if there's anyone else on here with our bikes, but regarding the bike at low revs, mine is the same, this is my first "big" bike and only the 2nd ever bike I've owned so not too knowledgeable about bikes in general. I have read about tt600 having low rev problems. there's a site called tune ecu, which could help, also do you have a owners manual, if not you can get one on disk at eBay or amazon. good luck. Lovely bike by the way.:upyeah:

Hi stevie9090 welcome to the site. I have a 1999 tiger 885i and its my first bike. Its got a plastic fuel tank that you have to learn to take off to do just about anything to it. I was reading in motorcycle magazine the other day about someone who had been having trouble with his T595 (plastic tank), saying the idling timing and starting were erratic and he'd checked the usual things, and the advice the mag gave him was to look at the breather hoses that go into the bottom of the tank and check they're not blocked. they went on with a word of caution (claiming no liability if the remedy was to go wrong) to advise the plastic tank owner to gently stick a thin drill bit up into the hole. I did this on my tiger and on the bottom of its tank there is an outer and an inner breathe hose, (in & out) there was nothing blocking the hoses themselves although they did need cleaning, but when I inserted the drill bit into the outer hole it stopped about where the tank would begin, ( about a cm in) I then did the same on the inner hole and the bit went in as far as I could push it, with no restrictions. I turned my attention back to the first holes and gently turned the bit into the gunk that was in there. I know it was gunk, because before I went right in I just scrapped it and found a sample of some grey matter on the bit. It was as soft as cheese and once I was sure it wasn't the tank itself I was gouging into I turned the drill bit properly (sans drill) and a load of water and silty silver grey stuff came out. That was water and sediment from fuel contamination that had built up over the years. Like I say, I don't know if this common complaint is what is causing the issue you're having with handling at low revs, but on a bike of that age it would be worth checking out to see if it might not be contributing to it.
