But check out the excess before you go near it! You’ll probably find you can get it done for less than the excess and won’t have a record of a claim to bump up your costs.

Agree but would you be happy with repair. New tank about £600 plus maybe other parts. At least it would be 100% Only way I would be happy.

Terribly sorry to hear what happened. It happened to one of my bike very long time ago but it wasn't the wind.....it was my girlfriend (X) pushed it over because. ....Apparently I loved the bike more than her. Anyways I said my goodbye n rode on.

Look up paintless dent removals. They are a mobile team n they can come to your workplace and do the job. I had them do a job on a car. I'm not sure how they go about motorbikes. But still it might be worth a try or they might even point you in the right direction.

    Good luck with it buddy

It could have been far worse. Long ago my Honda rolled off its stand and toppled, taking my VFR and my son's WK with it! I was mortified but it was only plastic at the end of the day (Oh, and a little metal too).

Hi Guys, a quick update. I'm getting my bike repaired through my insurance. It's being picked up tomorrow and going to a place called 4th Dimension in Egham. Anyone had any experience of them? I'll keep you posted.

Yes bad. heard horrendous reports. Get it done at Triumph Dealers only.
They will repair tank rather than replace, and a cheap job. Protest as much as possible.
Id rather go to a back street diddycoy place than them.

My insurance company says the I have to use their designated repairers, I'm trying to call them now to see if I can change that.

    typical.

I've been off the forum for a while now (since getting t-boned on a roundabout by an incompetent old man)
The accident did 2.5k worth of damage to my bike and it was picked up by 4th dimension who are supposedly a approved repairer. Anyway to cut a very long story into just a long one I'll attach a copy of the email I have just posted to them and let you get the picture... I urge anybody who has an accident and gets referred to 4th dimension to walk away and choose your own repairer as these guys really haven't got a clue.
