Hi Guys, I thought I'd post here first of all - to introduce myself and also to ask what your rules are about posting links to other sites? I run a Tiger Explorer  among other bikes but last year I developed a brain tumour and thought my riding days were over. But I recovered and part of that was due to bikes - especially the site I founded with a few friends - this gave me a reason to fight and get better. It's a free, non-profit site where we review bikes, kit and accessories and share this information with other riders (2-way we like to publish owner reviews not only our own). Its called 'bigbikemad'. (appropriately). We've got a fair bit that's relevant to this forum and I was wondering if it would be OK to include the occasional link to the articles in my posts? No hidden agenda here -we're not selling anything! We would be happy in return to publicise the forum free on our site including putting a link back so some traffic and hopefully members are sent your way..:upyeah: Don't want to upset anyone or break any rules so I thought I'd ask.. Ride safe Dave
Welcome Dave, I'm new on here and don't know the rules so wouldn't like to comment- But welcome all the same
Thanks mate. I can understand a Forum wanting to protect itself from Spam and so on, so I'm quite happy to do the right thing and ask first. Dave
Careful hedge P19 gets a bit frisky when you get close, just ask Bry! He was apparently fairly normal before he joined up :upyeah:
Well, the trouble is there is a lot of spam about - and advertising too. So Forums do have to police this in the interests of members. Bigbikemad is only a small group of harmless nutters who like talking about bikes and our site is free. No membership, no heavy advertising of timeshares or Russian girl 'friends' and all that rubbish. I see it as complimentary to all Forums as its a means of sharing unbiased information but I don't want to just crash in without explaining and introducing meself. HH
Crash* Hello Hedgehog like the bike, like the idea of a site where unbiased views on bike accessories can be shared, I don't know the law related to hot-links or if its different from one site to the next or if its an international issue, who knows. I say mention away.
There are no legal issues in posting a link....that's the whole idea of the internet. Its just a matter of good manners.
Hi and welcome to the forum, I doubt there would be anything wrong with what you are proposing, am sure our Admin "CC" will be along shortly and say hi.
Hi, Hedgehog. Brilliant battle you won, my best to you. Steve (Conquest Carbon, site admin) will be along soon but I can't see that he'll have a problem - he's put up with a little bit worse, from time to time. Cracking idea for a site and probably of more real life worth than most. Good luck with it. B
Welcome to the forum and good to hear about your recovery. btw I'm not sure this radical idea of being polite will catch on
Hi Dave, thanks for joining and well done for beating a terrible illness. Bikes are amazing not only do they make you feel great but they help in so many other ways (maybe not marriages , even bringing communities together. I'm admin of the site and I don't have a problem with you idea, I'll like to also make a blogg on my website to help promote your site too. There's a lot of great guys on here who love a laugh so I hope you enjoy your stay. CC
Ah, thanks CC.:upyeah: If your firm makes parts for bikes I'd also be happy to post info on my site too. What goes around comes around and all that... Dave
Look, us hedgehogs aren't grumpy all the time...only when the Beer delivery is late... The rest of the time we're very mellow, actually. Love and Peace Man.
