I've been riding and racing motorcycles for over 40 years now. Started out with a on/off rode bike and moved into motocross at my local five state area. Spent time racing a highly modified three wheeler on dirt and ice in the long winters. Street rides include a 1978 Yamaha Maxium 750, 1991 FZR600, and then after I spent a lot of money redoing the engine on the FZR, which tuned into a true sleeper on the street, but on my next visit to my live long mechanic he showed me the brand new 1996 Triumph Sprint, still in the crate. Love at first sight you might say, traded the FZR in for the motor work cost I had just done that day. 21 years and 45000k miles later still riding my pride and joy. Rode to Seattle through the Rookies a couple of times, rode to Montreal Canada, Daytona Bike Week, and countless Sturgis Rallies. The Black Hills of South Dakota is my favorite riding area, just 5 hours from my home, and I try to go every couple years. My Sprint has brought me much enjoyment over the years and I'll ride it as long as it will allow me too. The bike has been built proof, mechanically, and still has that low end grunt coming out of corners with a smooth power band to top gear. Just plain fun to hang it out even at my age. Hats off to the folks at the Hinckley plant that built this bike!!!!
Hello Tim and welcome in to the Triumph Asylum - Nursie will be round soon with your drugs. That was a great introduction by the way, normally we only get "my name's Dave and I ride bikes" so to hear a bit of back story was good. Now, on here it ain't happened unless there's photographic evidence, so get some pics on here of the legendary machine of yours
