    At the moment a Zx9r but I want a speed triple. 1050. But just worried about missing the top end speed

    Oooh dear. Speed limits 70. Yes we all do occasionally go above that but the chances to do so are few and far between now due to the number of cameras about.
    A speed trip is no slug but may not have the top end of a sports bike. If speed is your thing stick with the sports bike and do some track days.
    Other than that go for a test ride on the speed you may be surprised at how much you like it.
