    I just became the proud owner of a 2005 speed triple. It has an M4 3 into 1 and a power commander 3. It burbles, pops and bangs like a mofo on deceleration, fun at first, now it's getting annoying.
    I'm considering taking it to get tuned properly but the more I look into it the more I'm undecided
    I've read quite a few opinions against the PC and to be honest I can't really afford to get it tuned up at the moment so I'm veering towards selling the PC to pay for whatever mods I need to get back to.
    I'm not used to this fancy modern stuff, all previous bikes have had carbs.....
    All opinions greatly appreciated

    Hi Bob, the popping on overrun can be caused by :

    1. A leaking exhaust - this permits air to enter the exhaust system on overrun and igniting any unburnt fuel. Check to see if you can find any leaks whilst the bike is on tickover;

    2. If your bike has the Secondary Air Injection (SAS) this works on permitting air to enter the exhaust downpipes under certain conditions (overrun for example) and ignites unburnt fuel. It's part of the engine's anti-pollution stuff. On most bikes it is easy to remove and can be done without changing anything in the ECU.

    The pipe is tight, no leaks. I'm pretty sure it's the PC3 that needs sorting or chucking

    Has your zorst got any baffles coz lack of backpressure would cause it to backfire on the overrun.I had an XR1200x with a PowerCommander 5 and no baffles and that sounded like Beirut on a bad day on the overrun.I stuck a homemade baffle in it and that semi cured it.Just a thought.

    What's your opinion of PC ?
    That's what I'm really trying to find out. Keep it? Chuck it?

    From what I hear you can just remove the pc and the bike is back to normal/standard its that simple do your own research please dont take my word for it. If thats the case then pop it off see how it rides and you can put it on and reset fueling to your hearts desire.found this

    Power Commander III USB Introduction
    Product Overview
    The Dynojet Power Commander plugs inline with your bike’s stock fuel injection system. It uses OEM (original equipment manufacturer) style connectors making installation easy and quick. The Power Commander III USB allows a full range of fuel adjustment, as much as +/- 100% over stock. Adjustments can be made either with a Windows based computer or by using the face plate mounted button adjusters. No permanent changes are made to the bike’s system. Once the unit is removed the bike reverts to its stock settings.
