    Hi,

What's the best way to look after these, do you use any sort of polish, wax, protective coating that you can apply without staining the black inner engine block where they meet?

    Cheers

Thoroughly clean then spray Scottoiler FS365 over them before and after every ride.

I have chrome covers, I wash them with an auto shampoo, dry off with chamois, use chrome polish, not abrasive. And polish off, kept them looking good. Now it's winter have done the same but squirted fs365 on after and spread with soft cloth. I use pledge on The black bits.

Shouldn't you be washing the 'black bits' off ? Couldn't resist Crispey, sorry! lol

Must admit, the FS365 is brilliant and I got a free Scottoiler neckwarmer with my order of 4 litres

Just got another unexpected 'freebie' neckwarmer with my EBC disc pads from Wemoto
Very festive with a life size Santa face on it and Wemoto branding. Well pleased!1

    Thanks all,

Looks like FS365 or Motorex is the way to go. For now I'll just WD40 them.

The Motorex used to be known as 645. sometimes the tin can have either 645, protect and shine, or protect and shine 645.

Ideally you need a Haynes or Triumph workshop manual, then you can understand what the implications are.
There may be Youtube clips available that could help.
Are you fitting new chrome headed or stainless bolts as well ?

And perhaps more importantly, do you have a torque wrench?

The torque settings are critical, too loose and they leak. Too tight and you bend the covers out of shape and they leak.
