Hi, Iam a triumph owner and have been it since 1982. I had a triumph tiger 90 that I tuned in to a tiger 100. But now i have bought a trumph bonneville t100 from 2003. I bought the TPUSA exhaust, and it makes a amazing sound, but i want to have a more thinner ( metalic) sound. So I looked at new exhaust headers, but do stainless steal headers "improve" the sound? And if so, what headers I am suppose to have ?

    Have a great day!

Hello Lars and welcome in to the Triumph Asylum.

It looks to me like you have the original Stainless steel headers.

The original headers are SS. The original silencers are chromed steel.

To improve the sound most people replace the silencers, me included. I swapped the originals for a pair of Brituro silencers.

Mine now sounds like a Bonneville should and not like a sewing machine. That said I'll never be able to creep up on anyone :yum

If you want to keep the same shape as now then you need something like these.

There are many aftermarket silencers available. If possible you need to mix with other owners and find a sound you like.

Thanks! All of you, I feel so wellcome to this site!
You guys just saved me 400 €, but I do have new after market exhaust ( triumph preformence USA)
Just going to test the headers if they are SS, so the owner before me haven´t switch them.

    Thanks again!

My T100 has Dunstalls and the PO spent £500 at the dyno place getting them dialled in. They are certainly loud, but TBH I'd have saved the money, or maybe had some long reverse cone megaphones like the ones above.
