After 4 bike-less years down to sorting out an orthopedic problem with my neck I'm now able to ride again. I'm a long term Triumph man, so the new wheels are a slightly used 2016 Thruxton R... miles better than the 2004 model I had from new until 2008. Photo attached! Happy to find this place and look forward to joining in. P.
Thanks to all for the warm welcome! Lots to discover, the "Twins" have moved on rather a lot since the original bikes. The to do list: Paddock stand bobbins and get a stand Fit the wiring for my heated waistcoat Fit a "Scotflinger" Oiler (I'm a bit obsessive about chain care! But most important, ride it: booked a 3hr 1:1 training session with Phoenix Training to make sure I've forgotten nothing and see if there are any new skills I need to pick up.
I have the standard Scottoiler on my Bonnie, the dual feed system which oils both sides of the chain is now available which I would advise getting. You don't need the electric version, vacuum works perfectly well.
I had them on previous bikes, both carburettor and efi. I share your view, the vac. version is fine: for some reason Triumph really don't like Scotoilers. Probably because they reduce the number of chains replaced!!
Welcome along, fab bike, best of luck with the training session, always a good idea,I'm sure you'll have a great time.
Snap! Is it not a work of art? Very impressed with mine so far. Been on tour through Europe last month, photos etc to follow. Fitted cramp busters to grips, they worked very well especially on the motorway sections. Have sent leather panniers back to Triumph due to stitching / leather bonding issues (no jokes please)
