Hello, Just joined and feel a little bit of a fraud, but think its the only way to get an unbiased opinion. I'm actually more of a 4 wheel guy, however I have fairly recently lost both in-laws, and amongst other things, my wif and I have inherited a 1965 T90 in not bad condition (oily rag) its been in storage for 20yrs and do have some spares. All the numbers match and I have all the original owners manuals etc, however we have no intention of keeping it, as we have too much other stuff to sort. Can anyone advise me on the best to way to get it appraised etc. Your thoughts would be very much appreciated. Regards John
I will start the bidding at £50  Seriously though, look around on ebay, classic bike classifieds etc & see what they are fetching..... You might be pleasantly surprised! Failing that, my offer of £50 stands!
A good condition one is up for sale at TRIUMPH T90 350CC For Sale (1965) on Car And Classic UK [C410761] for £3350. I would place it for sale in a classic bike magazine or try some classic bike web sites.. If you stick some photos up though i may be interested... Pressie for my old man
Bollocks to that SB.... How about a present for me? I can tinker with that if i get any spare time when i finally finish my current never ending bungalow project
Spare time sick note!!!! you have nothing but from what i've heard... pressie for the old man is me saying it will get handed back to me..lol.. got to spend some of my 3OT on 4something.... thought id try the numbers out...lol
Very good. I 2like what you 5did there mate9. I might be carrying some injuries following my accident BUT the missus has still got me grafting whilst im off sick you know.
Just because you are unfit to do your job, doesnt mean you are unfit to work....... Apparently!
Put it on E Bay with loads of pics it will reach its own level then put a reserve of 1500-2000 or so just to protect it ,it will cost a bit to get it on there but if someone is really interested you can cancel the listing as no correctly listed and get cash on collection ,beware of lookers and tire kickers and try not to let them look at where the bike is stored ,hope this helps
Thanks for replies, I will put some pics on in a bit. Still have no idea what I should be asking for it though. All the best John
Well it's certainly not mint so it's not going to fetch £3k.. It's a restore project for someone, does it have the log bog and all paper work?
Hi, Many thanks, I did say it was a resoration project, its been sat in the garage since 83, yes we have log book (changed for new style) original owners handbook, resoration manuals and spares Regards
My original offer of £50 is still on the table . Seriously though if it was a minter, this time of year too, which is generally quiet for motorbike sales, i would say £400-£500 max. Its a ground up, nut & bolt rebuild. The whole bike will need stripping, rusted bolts which will probably shear off or round off the nuts. The frame will need blasting back to bare metal & repainting or powder coating. All the chrome will need re-chroming (not cheap) the engine will probably need a complete strip down, machining & rebuilding if its not been regularly fire up. New bearings & seals throughout the bike, wheels will need re-chroming & re-spoking, new tyres, seat cover. The wiring loom will probably be shot too. God knows if you can still buy them? Might even need to get one made up especially by an auto-electrician or similar? The list of work required is endless! To make it a real mint bike again i reckon if you are lucky, you have a £3k spend unless you know somebody that can do machining, powder coating, painting & chroming etc that is very cheap. It will be a very nice bike again one day & for the right person, i project to keep them busy for a year or so in the evenings, weekends & winter months. Good luck with the sale!
Its going to be a good project for someone but i think he may have sold it already.. which is a shame... John i wish you all the best with the sale.
