I need to fit new master cylinders ,I understand that bore size was increased on the 900 to 5/8 has anyone fitted
17mm ?? if so are there any benefits or otherwise? I'm asking coz there seems to be very little choice in after market 5/8 master cylinders

I believe the 14mm master cylinder is the same fitment as the 5/8 Nissin item on the ZX7R and ZX9R amongst others. TBH I have used a 14mm M/C on my ZX with no noticeable difference in performance. Only when I upgraded to 6 pot Nissin calipers did I find a benefit in going to the 5/8's, the 14mm giving a little too much lever travel.

I think it was 13mm or 14mm on the earlier models then upgraded to 5/8 which I have on mine,I'm not trying to upgrade, just renew with a small reservoir type, the 5/8 translates as 16mm,I have more options at 17mm was just wondering if 17 would give to little lever movement,if anyone else had done it,it would save experimenting

Yes. I was in jack Lilley's team and we changed from stock 14mm to 5/8". (on T595 and TT600)
It was from a yzf 750 but was a remote resovoir type so the yam part was literally the m/c.
Now I would still be using remote but look at the radial m/c as used on daytona 675, street triple R or some speeds 1050's also late Suzuki GSXR. But you will also need a new hose and lever. Otherwise 5/8" wise there are many to chase from as again it is a nissin part used by suzuki kawasaki and yamaha.
